Health

The health mission of the Federal government is expansive and diverse. With the sustainment and optimization of healthcare across the United States and the research and clinical practices of the Health and Human Services (HHS) and other health agencies like the Defense Health Agency, the systems supporting the mission, both directly and indirectly, are critical health information technology (IT) assets. Aderas has extensive experience in IT services for the Federal Health Care Sector. Our services enable organizations to financially support the health systems and provide medical resources to meet mission needs.

Aderas demonstrates domain specific capability in Federal Healthcare Systems and Solutions. We provide dedicated support to improve the capability, effectiveness, and efficiencies in Healthcare Legacy systems. We also work to increase the reach of critical analytics and intelligence as well as the tools and resources critical to conducting human and animal clinical research and evaluations. The following highlights Aderas’ domain specific capability and commitment to the Health Related Mission.

Protecting Humans and Animals in Research: Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committees (IACUCs) are critical to ensuring accurate information about research proposals, that research protects human and animal rights, and that research projects fall in line with federal, state, local, and ethical guidelines. The review processes are critical, highly analytical, and require collaboration across Government, Academia, and Research Facilities (among other participants). Aderas provides the Defense Health Agency Solution Delivery Division with a critical COTS tool, iRIS TM, to facilitate the research process by enabling collaboration and providing the researcher and reviewer a 360-degree view of critical data while guaranteeing processes are streamlined, regulatory compliance requirements are met, and all research activities and results are tracked.

Aderas ensures functionality, maintainability, support, technology, and information assurance are provided to DHA SDD and that the software meets internal and external requirements. Our understanding of key regulations and guidance bodies (i.e. International Conference of Harmonization and the Food and Drug Administration) is critical to meeting current and new requirements. iRIS TM (integrated Research Information System) by iMedRIS Data Corporation is a fully-comprehensive, software and hardware agnostic, Section 508 compliant, and 100% COTS software solution that has been developed and refined over the last 14 years for commercial and Government institutions that need to integrate their internal business operations under a single application platform.

Providing a Combined View of Medical Assets to the Defense Health Agency: Human Resource Management is critical to delivering quality healthcare and the Defense Medical Human Resources System – internet (DMHRSi ) represents the single integrated Healthcare Human Resource system within the Department of Defense. DMHRSi provides a combined view of medical assets, is deployed to over 800 military medical sites and has over 170,000 users worldwide. Since 2008, Aderas has provided operational and technical support for DMHRSi. We perform day-to-day systems operations and maintenance of the Oracle EBS Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) solution, which represents the cornerstone of the DMHRSi application.

Improving service to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services Medicare Beneficiaries through increased claim processing: Aderas serves as one of the key team members in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) implementation of the Healthcare Integrated General Ledger Accounting System (HIGLAS). CMS has 45 million providers and beneficiaries and it uses HIGLAS to process approximately 4.5 million claims daily. HIGLAS improves accountability for Medicare payments to physicians, hospitals, and other providers servicing Medicare beneficiaries. HIGLAS is also used to support accounting for Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) grants as well as to generate the CMS Financial Statements, including all vendor payments, payables, and receivables. Aderas assists CMS in increasing its healthcare claims processing throughput by more than 30% which has resulted in in more timely and effective healthcare claims and collection activities.
