Identity Proofing Solutions
Aderas’ Identity Proofing (IdP) team utilizes AWS public cloud, AWS GovCloud and other cloud environments to deploy their Federal IdP solution. Our solution utilizes microservices running on AWS to integrate calls to our FedRAMP and/or NIST compliant IdP sources for both proofing and validation of data from the identity documents. The Serverless Cloud environment can be stood up with a single, 100% automated script. Our Single Page Application (SPA) built on React integrates with the microservices to provide a complete secure solution that is portable between cloud environments. The React application captures both Document images and processes the Facial Recognition and Liveness detection. Our team utilizes GitHub Actions to integrate security and code scanning tools into the CD/CI pipeline. In addition, our microservices are built on cross platform languages which have large libraries to easily support extensions.
We utilize Agile user stories and follow NIST SP 800-63-3 Digital Identity Guidelines. Because our solution is built using microservices and workflows, backend components can be added or swapped out as the need arises to adapt to the evolving landscape for digital identities. Aderas’ Identity proofing requirements are based on NIST best practices for remote Identity Assurance Level (IAL) at Level 2.
Operations & Maintenance
Aderas is a small business dedicated to Operations & Maintenance for complex custom and ERP solutions. We have supported numerous complex and mission critical application solutions since our inception and bring much more to the table than a team of experts – Aderas provides Service Management excellence.
Aderas is a certified ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 Service Management Provider. ISO 20000 is comprised of two parts: a specification for IT Service Management (ISO 20000-1) and a code of practice for service management (ISO 20000-2). ISO/IEC 20000 is the first international standard for IT service management. Formally, ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 (‘part 1’) includes “the design, transition, delivery and improvement of services that fulfill service requirements and provide value for both the customer and the service provider.” This certification means that Aderas goes beyond simply using the leading practices, standards, and frameworks such as ITIL®, COBIT®, Six Sigma, etc. Since ISO/IEC 20000 requires continuous surveillance audits, we are highly committed and motivated to keep our entire organization engaged and committed to quality-based Service Management processes. ISO/IEC 20000 offers internationally recognized best practices through an integrated process approach designed to meet the expectations of both businesses and customers. Information Assurance & Cyber Security
Aderas has the technical staff with many skills and expertise, including many with Security + and/or CISSP certifications to perform Information Assurance tasks in accordance with DoD directives and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Controls.
Using agency specific processes aligned to NIST 800-53 controls for Civilian Federal Customers, the DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Customers, Aderas has evaluated and assisted customers in implementing and maintaining secure solutions. We have experience transitioning customers from DoD DIACAP to RMF processes in order to achieve the initial ATOs, and updates to ATOs, for their enterprise systems.
On an ongoing basis, Aderas engineers manage and fulfill the Certification and Accreditation requirements for various Federal government systems. This involves initiation, security certification, security accreditation, and continuous monitoring. Initiation involves the control, verification, and validation of security activities. We perform independent assessments to ensure that the management, operational, and technical security controls of the IT systems are implemented correctly.
Aderas tracks and ensures that applicable Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA) were tested and applied to the system for many of our customers’ programs. We provide daily maintenance and sustain compliance with all vendor released security patches including Information Assurance Vulnerability Messages (IAVM). We perform activities, including security hardening, to obtain an Authority to Operate (ATO) as well as annual review assessments to maintain accreditation. Additionally, Aderas provides technical support to operations teams during planning, failover, testing, and failback activities of many of our customers’ successful semi-annual Continuity of Operations and Disaster Recovery exercises.
Aderas has provided Contingency Planning associated with migration to the DISA Capacity Services environment. For our customers, we provided Policy and Compliance support for items including encryption of data at rest, single sign-on, and IA audit remediation. We have experience implementing CAC authentication for our customers’ enterprise IT systems including the Oracle E-Business Suite. We support the Security Architecture Design for the system of systems and for the Business Objects access to the Data Repository. We perform the Security Hardening by managing IAVAs, remediation of issues identified by Risk Management Framework (RMF), AR, and ATO activities. We have achieved interim and full System Certification and Accreditation for DoD IT enterprise systems and support the Risk Management Framework based annual reviews.
